We are constantly developing customer-oriented products to satisfy Yards / Owner specific requirements.

In the field of communication new technologies, functions, performances are demanded at any time from our customers in order to optimize the operating conditions of their fleet, increase the safety of the crew and make more comfortable the daily life on board.

The Gicom laboratories are equipped with sophisticated instruments and high qualified personnel. Our structure allow development of both new hardware and new software based on market requirements.

Before to be officially launched on the market, each new device is submitted to sever tests to check its reliability and compliance with technical specification parameters, Classification Society rules (if any) and customer expectation.

TYPE APPROVAL CERTIFICATES

Internal Communication System certainly belong to primary safety system on board, subject to inspection on board not only during the building stage but also at the time ships are in service.

Maritime Authorities – Classification Societies – Coast Guard – Port Authorities are engaged in periodic tests aimed to verify the compliance with IMO/SOLAS Regulations in force of any safety system on board.

For all the above reasons Gicom decided since the beginning to avoid the “case by case” approval procedure and started a complex and severe process toward the main Classification Societies to get Type Approval Certificates.
